A couple of weeks ago the Satellite and Aerial team were called out to a customer's home to investigate his 'loss of satellite signal'. After completing all the usual checks it transpired that the cable was faulty. Our engineer was slightly puzzled by this but continued to try and locate the site of the problem by physically checking every inch of the cable on the outside of the customer's house. He eventually found this damaged piece of cable.

There were pieces of lead shot embedded in the cable which had undoubtedly caused the damage and subsequent loss of signal. It turned out that someone had been shooting at squirrels and that some stray shot had found its way into the cable! When the engineer called me to say "the cable is shot" I assumed he meant that it was faulty....not that it had actually been shot.
