A couple of stories in the papers this week have caught my eye and made me smile. First was the news that the Radioshack Electronics chain in the US states of Idaho and Montana is offering free guns to first time subscribers of a satellite TV dish network. The owner of one of the participating stores in Idaho is reported to have said that the flagging economy was behind the promotion. Customers who sign up to the dish network for the first time are given a coupon to buy either a pistol or a shotgun.

It was of particular interest to me as Moss of Bath have just launched a Spring promotion for first time SKY subscribers. We are however, giving away the safer option of a FREE SKY+ HD BOX.

The other story concerned Sainsburys and the news that their delivery drivers have been told not to deliver to customer's whose homes are above first floor level in case they injure themselves. Sainsburys state that their drivers are happy to discuss alternative delivery options with individual customers. I'm imagining some sort of rope and pulley system could be rigged up?
